Amy is trying to build something for her brother Finn. Making her way through the house, she spots some of the things she needs in the playroom and takes them away. Finn, meanwhile, is looking for Amy, and along the way discovers a broken chair in the playroom – it looks like someone took a piece of it! Finn fixes the chair and continues looking for Amy.The siblings continue on their respective quests, Amy collecting the items she needs for Finn’s surprise and Finn, in turn, fixing the things Amy leaves behind. When they eventually find each other, Amy shows Finn the remote-control flying car-boat she made for him – but it doesn’t seem to be working quite right. Finn suggests they work together to make something instead and, happily, the siblings get back to work. This funny story is a wonderful representation of how working together can produce greater results than working alone. The simple humour of watching Finn discover the broken things in Amy’s wake will be relatable to caregivers and older siblings alike, making this a great book for story time.
