It's sports day at Lin's school, and she's part of the red house. Go Red! Sports are not Lin's strength, though. She arrives last in everything, and other kids begin to taunt her: "Last-place Lin! Last-place Lin!" Lin is over it. A teacher encourages her to keep trying. In the final so-called "fun-run", Lin competes with the others as she is told. She begins chanting her nickname to herself, over and over again - "last-place Lin, last-place Lin". Everyone is cheering for her, even though she is well and truly the final kid running. When Lin completes the race, she is proud of herself just for finishing.
