Mitchell has had eczema since he was a baby. He was born itching. The illustrations depict eczema on his face, wrists, elbows and legs. To cope with the itching, Mitchell has tried lots of different treatments. He has tried ice to keep it cool, special cream, and covering his hands to avoid scratching. Mitchell starts playing the guitar as a distraction. He plays whenever he gets itchy. Although the eczema doesn't go away, Mitchell gets quite good at his new skill.
