Sid loved socks. He collected new ones every day in groups of eight. One day, he notices that a stripy sock is missing and he can't find it anywhere. Then the next day, another one is gone. And then another. So Sid stays up late, determined to catch the thieves. As it hits midnight, white mice sneak up from under the floorboards and Sid watches the socks disappearing. Sid prised up the floorboards and found a nest the mice made from his chewed-up socks. They were ruined! Sid emptied out all his mismatched socks. It gave him the idea to wear all mismatched socks. With mismatched socks, he felt amazing! From that day on, he thanked his new friends and made sure to never wear matching socks again.
