After Lucy’s cat, Patch, is put down at an old age, Lucy and her dad are devastated. While walking home from a swimming lesson with her dad, Lucy sees a kitten step out from the mist and then disappear. Feeling sad about the kitten’s similarity to Patch, Lucy avoids the place on her walk home the next day. But the kitten is hungry and follows the noises around her to find food. Eventually, the kitten finds Lucy kicking a ball against a wall. There is a plate of food next to her that smells so good. Lucy notices the kitten eating the food and sits down until the kitten finishes the whole plate. Unfortunately, Dad comes outside loudly and the kitten runs away. Lucy and the kitten continue to bond until one day the kitten goes missing. Lucy doesn’t want to tell her dad because she doesn’t want to make him sadder, but now she can’t sleep! Will Lucy be able to find the kitten and give it a new home?
