Ben lives with his mother, his stepdad, Keith, and their three-year-old twin daughters, Beedee and Deebee. Ben’s father, Stewart, died some years ago, and his grandparents, Granny Lou and Grandpa Joe, live across town. They have a beautiful garden filled with bees, butterflies, and birds. Grandpa Joe loved photographing butterflies, and Granny Lou loved baking cakes. Ben loved spending time with his grandparents, but everything changed when Granny Lou died. Grandpa Joe gave up his butterfly photography and now watches TV all day in a dark room. Ben realised that Grandpa Joe was slipping away and shared his concerns with his mother and stepdad, even though they were not on good terms with his grandparents. After hearing his sisters talk about a tropical butterfly house, Ben gets an idea. Since Grandpa Joe will not go out, maybe Ben can bring butterflies to him! But when Ben learns that his parents want to move his grandpa into a care home, will Ben's butterfly plan be too late?
