This informative picture book details the life cycle of honeybees with beautiful illustrations. One morning, a brand-new honeybee squirms out of her wax cell. Apis's first job is to tidy the hive's nursery, but when she reaches three days old, she'll be ready for her next job. Apis nurses the larvae until her eighth day, and then it's tending to the queen. After that, she starts building the comb and, soon after, food handling. On her twenty-fifth day, she leaves the hive in search of pollen. Once the pollen is returned, Apis dances with her fellow honeybees until the next day, when she flies out again. One morning, Apis drops to the ground and stills. But back in the hive, a brand-new honeybee is ready to emerge.
