Juno Jones: Epic Explorer

Juno Jones is a primary school student at Muttonbird Bay. She is the only one who can see Futoshi, a habu, a pika, and a Ussuri brown bear. The five of them are ninja protectors of Muttonbird Bay and routinely fight Alien Lizard Men to stop them from taking over the world. She soon learns that her little brother, Genius George, can see them too. He demands to join their adventures. There’s no time for her to figure out how to keep him away, and she will be going to book camp tomorrow anyway. While she worries the Alien Lizard Men will try something in her absence, she is excited at the chance to go on a camping trip with her friends, Vi and Bluey. Juno also loves reading and frequently uses footnotes to define big or complicated words to the reader. On the way to camp, Juno becomes friends with Tess, the new girl in their class. Tess asks their teacher, Miss Tippett, if Juno and her female friends can bunk together, and Miss Tippett says yes. Because Tess asked politely, they got the best lodge in the camp. But when Bella and the Smell Belles (a friend group who hate Juno’s group, frequently calling them ‘freakazoids’) learn that Juno got a better lodge than them, Bella swears she will get revenge.
