The amusing interactions between Peanut, Butter, and Crackers make light of how dogs and cats think differently. In this second graphic novel, Butter scares Peanut, the puppy, in what appears to be a dark room but is, in fact, the garage filled with interesting things. Crackers, the level-headed older dog, shows Peanut there’s nothing to be afraid of. But when the family goes camping, Butter decides to leave and scratches through the mesh of the camper van. Peanut follows him, and the pair end up getting lost. And this time, there is a real reason to be afraid. Peanut and Butter try to figure out where they are, and Butter tries to find a litter tray. Butter follows the flowing water, assuming the litter tray will be near the bathroom, only for Butter and Peanut to fall into a river. Luckily, Crackers decides to search for them after they are gone too long. He makes friends with a beaver who helps chew through a tree so Crackers can rescue Butter and Peanut. Meanwhile, Butter has to encourage Peanut to get to the log before they can be rescued. Everyone decides it is safer to stay in the camper van.
