Fourteen-year-old Rafen has been set apart for service to Siana because of his sacred name. He was recently on sabbatical with the royal family, who adopted him on his thirteenth birthday. When King Robert (Rafen’s adoptive father) returns to his palace in Siana, he discovers that his brother Lord Frankston has handed the throne over to the Lashki Mirah, an invincible, evil figure who rose from the dead to claim the Sianian throne decades ago. The Lashki Mirah has already killed two kings of Siana and one heir to the throne, but he is planning to add another notable murder to his list. Will Rafen and the royal family be able to escape him?
