Muffin the puffin is growing up. She is about to leave home, hoping to join the search and rescue team on the Island of Egg. Her father was on the search and rescue team, and Muffin wanted to be just like her dad. Muffin's dad always taught her to check abandoned eggs for puffins that needed help. Muffin is nervous she won't fit in because her feet are different to other puffins. She knows she needs to pass several tests before she is accepted onto the island. Muffin flies to the island and tries to complete the tests, but she doesn't pass any! Her dad watched and wondered why Muffin wasn't flying as fast as usual. The instructor asked her to explain, and she replied that she was taught never to leave an egg without checking for a puffin who needed help. On her flight, she had stopped to check a giant egg in the middle of the island but found no puffin there. The instructor was happy that Muffin cared enough to stop. He gave her another chance in a different flying test. She makes her dad proud as she is accepted to join the Unflappables. Although Muffin gets homesick, she makes a friend called Tiny in training the next day. Tiny has giant wings that make it tricky for him to train, and the two puffins connect over their differences from other puffins. Suddenly, all the puffins on the island are called to gather at the giant egg in the middle of the island. A baby puffin is lost! Will she find it in time?
