missionary family, faith, war, friendship
Nicole, a 15-year-old girl, must move to Prague for her father’s work, along with her mother and brother, Adam. She enjoys this new life, teaching people about the good deeds of Jesus. But living in the Czech Republic means some people are quite hostile to their Christian beliefs. When Nicole introduces herself to her new classmates as a Christian, she is met with negativity and general bias. But after six months of living somewhat peacefully, Nicole’s attempts at slowly making friends are destroyed when the political climate shifts dangerously. Nicole’s parents are falsely accused of treason and captured with espionage charges. Nicole and Adam are forced to hide in underground tunnels to protect themselves, as they work to prove their parents’ innocence. Nicole and Adam must journey through the ancient city and team up with Jakub, a homeless, young Romani Czech.
