    Seventeen-year-old Arcadia Gannon (Dia) lives in Missouri with her mother, Gigi, and helps her run their antique shop, Prologue Antiques. Dia is a massive fan of Louisiana Veda, the famous late game maker of the Darkly board games. Dia hears of an opportunity to apply for an internship in London at Lousiana’s factory and fills out her application. Not long after sending her application, Dia receives an email congratulating her on winning a summer internship at the Louisiana Veda Foundation in London. She meets Poe, Mouse, Franz, Cooper, Everleigh and Torin, the other interns. They head to the island, where they are given the task of finding George Grenfell, a fifteen-year-old who went missing after winning the game Valkyrie.
