Product Description

Last year, Arianne Rayne was playing college basketball and looking forward to a permanent future with her boyfriend. This year, she is learning to live with disability. After walking away from an accident he’d caused by reckless driving, her boyfriend walked away from her. The uncertainty of how life would look now that she had lost mobility was enough for him to break the relationship, and her heart. Coming to Trinity Lakes to live with her stable, unflappable grandparents is hope for a new beginning and a chance to heal her heart. Away from her parents’ cloistered, cotton-wool approach, she hopes to learn how to live independently with the help of physiotherapist and trainers at the local gym. Until she meets Matthew Kennedy. He might be buff and good looking, but he has no idea about how to relate to someone living with disability. He’s eligible, and he is certainly accessible, given he is one of her personal trainers, but will he ever see beyond her wheelchair? Arianne’s heart tells her it’s unlikely.

Arianne’s life was fine until the accident. Her boyfriend was driving, and not only did the car crash leave her in a wheelchair, but he also dumped her afterwards. Arianna is now in Trinity Lakes for a fresh start. As well as suffering from physical pain, she is hurting inside from the loss of friends and her boyfriend. When Arianne arrives at Matthew's gym for physical therapy and training, he is inadvertently more rude than he intends. Matthew is not judgemental, just unsure about how to interact with someone who is disabled. Heidi, a social media influencer, also shows up and wants training. Heidi is intentionally very rude to Arianne and tries to avoid any images of her in her perfect gym workouts. When Matthew’s sister Lucy tells him off for being rude, she calls him to review how he feels about people with a disability. When Matthew starts to feel attracted to Arianne, he is a little confused. Does he want to be with someone who has a disability when he doesn't fully understand it? A sweet story suitable for older teens and adults.
