As a baby, Zhi Ging is left with Aapau in the village of Fei Chui. No one knows the identity of her parents. Aapau raises her, and she studies to become a Silhouette. Silhouettes train to become Immortals at a unique magical school. When Iridill (the glassmith’s daughter) is chosen to become a Silhouette, Zhi Ging is devasted and determined to convince the scout that she should also attend the school. However, only one child from each town is selected. When the scout, Reishi, loses a jade rock, Zhi Ging convinces herself that this is her opportunity to become a Silhouette. She plans to find the rock and change Reishi's mind. Although she succeeds in changing his mind, it is not for the reason she expected. But with Silhouettes disappearing, will the school turn out to be everything she imagined?
