Victoria Burke adores her husband, her children, and her teaching career. After she learns of and confronts her husband about his infidelity, he’s violent toward her. Victoria packs her three children for their Christmas trip to her sister’s but loses two children in a tragic car crash with an intoxicated driver, leaving her and her son in hospital in critical condition. Her son soon dies, leaving Victoria to deal with her grief and her estranged husband. After rehab, Victoria accepts a country teaching post and leaves Melbourne, seeking solace and a fresh start in the unassuming (fictional) town of Tellarine, a place she hopes her estranged husband won’t find her. A refreshing and compelling read set in a cozy town about stepping out in faith through devastating incidents. This is the first book in the Tellarine series and can stand alone.
