A powerful three-part story collection about the complex dynamics of a sports team and their ability to work together. Woody doesn't want to be at Borderlands because he prefers soccer, and his father is fighting a war in Central Asia. He soon discovers he’s very good at rugby as he’s fast and accurate. He becomes part of the team and joins them in the national championships. Rory is the team’s goal-kicker and loves practising his kicks. He’s delighted his team are going to play in the European Rugby Championships and practices a lot. Both his parents are fighting in the war and he finds Jesse, the team captain, to be a bully. Rory is determined not to be intimidated and to kick six from six.Owen loves being part of the British Borderlands team and is thrilled to be going to New Zealand with his team to play in the international Rugby championships. However, the team captain, Jesse, needs to be told off repeatedly as he bullies Owen for not being able to read well. He then disrespects the culture of the other teams and is dropped from the team. Owen is asked to be captain, but he’s concerned he won’t be able to do the role justice.
