Shae is forced to spend the holidays with her cousins after her parents cancelled their holiday to deal with matters they refuse to tell her. While in Townsville, she hangs out with Lexi and makes several new friends, but becomes annoyed at how she changed and the people she hangs out with. She also meets Callen, who she dislikes at first but eventually a relationship develops. Meanwhile, she receives a picture from a mysterious person that implies that her father is having an affair with a woman named Karen. She decides to investigate in secret and meets Stella, the sender of the picture, who reveals that she is Karen’s daughter and that they are related. She starts to trust her parents less and less, until they eventually tell her the truth. This novel will intrigue readers with its engaging plot and complex characters.
