Sent as a spy to a summer camp for supernerds in the remote Australian outback, he’s tasked with finding twins named Reece and Holly. The thought of fitting in is a terrifying prospect. He’s got no scientific ability, a little sister to babysit, a secret talent to keep hidden, and mysterious dream-visions of life in a medieval castle to untangle. Gawain has secrets. Gawain has been sent on a spy mission to outback Australia by his father’s terrifyingly repulsive boss. His goal is to find and identify some twins named Reece and Holly at a camp for young scientists. Further, Gawain has been having disturbing, dreamlike visions of a medieval court. When Gawain is at the airport in Ohio, preparing to leave America for Australia, he is shot. On arrival, they meet a giant, Uri Messenger, who wears blood-red glasses and claims to be the janitor. He takes them to meet his fellow students. Only four other students have arrived at the camp. Gawain is introduced to Vasily from Russia, Emrys and Celyren from Australia, and Cardea from Indonesia. The students encounter a group of Indigenous boys, led by Jed Harris, seeking a sharva. Gawain’s memory of meeting a sharva once, long ago, begins to awaken. However, the Indigenous boys become alarmed by Gawain's red hair, blue eyes, freckles and bandaged arm. He looks like one of their tribal enemies. Will Gawain finish his mission before it gets more complicated?
