In Ancient Egypt, a terrible crime is about to take place. Nub, an apprentice scribe, and Iteti, the daughter of a vizier, must solve eleven puzzles to prevent this from happening. After overhearing a group of men planning to rob the tomb of the queen, the friends travel through the Ancient Egyptian city, through the House of Scribes to the Nile, to the embalming rooms, and the pyramids. The puzzles involve decoding lines of hieroglyphs with a key at the end of the book, and each page includes a Did You Know? relating to the scene. Puzzle solutions and a glossary of words are included at the end.
