Product Description

Fun, absorbing novel that helps kids aged 7+ to engage with the Bible as they learn that it’s only through Jesus that we can please God. It's nearly Career Day, and 9-year-old Abigail is trying to decide what she wants to be when she grows up. She wants to do something that will please God and her family, so she decides she will be a missionary police officer—a job that she thinks means behaving perfectly and making sure everyone else does too! But all her efforts seem to backfire. After some helpful Bible teaching from her loved ones about the story of Paul's conversion, Abigail rethinks what it means to please God and to "be good"!

9-year-old Abigail has just moved house. Her new school, Corolla Elementary, is hosting Careers Day, where the student's parents come and talk about their work. Ian's dad, Officer Dave, gives his presentation about being a police officer. Abigail wishes her dad could have come, but as a chaplain at the hospital, he doesn't get any time off. At recess, Abigail, Flora and Greg talk about their career goals. Greg wants to be a comedian, Flora wants to be an artist, florist, dancer, and movie star, and Abigail realises she wants to be a missionary. After joking about being acrobats, Greg urges Abigail to hang by her knees on the monkey bars. Abigail, afraid of the others laughing at her for being scared, attempts it and falls. Luckily, Officer Dave catches her and reminds her to follow the rules, giving her a Junior Police Officer badge. Now, she wants to be a missionary police officer. Abigail decides to make sure everyone is following the rules, but this begins to backfire. A charming story with an important lesson on God's love and faith. This is the second book in the Abigail series.
