Following the same core plot line as the original story, Alexis and the Perfect Recipe is retold as a graphic novel. Of the four girls in the Cupcake Club, Alexis is the most sensible and logical. She loves maths and sees life in terms of equations (particularly helpful when calculating costs and profit margins for their cupcake business). So, when she finds herself interested in Emma's brother, Matt, she tries to find a logical explanation. Does he watch her or speak to her? What does it mean? Her new goal is to get a dance with Matt at Dylan's party, where the cupcake club are doing the dessert, much to Dylan's dismay. But there is a lot to learn. An endearing story with a valuable message about friendship and pursuing the things that really matter.
