When Faye Fitzgerald's aunt sends her away to a boarding school on Auk Island, Faye has to discover who she really is in order to find a way back to her ailing father. The school on Auk Island is really a prison for unwanted children—some of whom are killed at the request of their relatives, for the right price, of course. Faye finds in herself a courage she did not know existed as she works with the other children to expose this evil operation and escape the island. A mysterious tale of resilience among courageous children who have been labelled wicked.
